Parks & Rec – Seeds Grown Here

Parks & Rec

Parks & Rec was one of the first bands I ever reviewed for The Take Media. Their tunes are memorable and different than what’s circulating around these days. It’s very clear what they’re all about, and have found an identity within their music that they are very proud of.

The album is filled with precise guitar riffs and fills that are usually played in a higher register. This creates a solid lead that beautifully contradicts the vocals.

Each instrument seems to be at par with the vocals; nothing overpowers anything else. Each part culminates in accordance to each songs tempo and melody. The drums embrace the offbeat which is always a notable hook.

Notable tracks:  ”All These Lives Collide” encourages it’s listeners to freely and willingly let go and dance it out, while “Light up the Night” hypnotizes them and holds them right in their place.

This album can appeal to a wider audience; whether you lean towards rock or folk you will find something you like about these seven tunes.
